A majority of these children live under the poverty line established by the UN. Most of these children report some instance of physical or sexual abuse. More than 700,000 children are expected to work to help support the family with over 4,000 living on the street.

The concept of children's rights does not exist on a national level.

Founded in 2006, Bolivia Digna’s objective is to promote and defend the rights of infants, children, adolescents, senior citizens and other vulnerable social groups living in poverty. The organization maintains two locations, both in slums outside of Cochabamba.

In October 2017, I traveled to central Bolivia to document one of the exemplary NGOs combating childhood poverty, Bolivia Digna. The following images depict Bolivia Digna's educational program, as well as aspects of daily life for many indigenous children in Cochabamba, Bolivia.
